Musical Limericks

We all love a good laugh!

Let's have a go writing our own musical limericks!

We've created some beginnings for you to finish off, or you can think of your own. Download our writing template at the bottom so you can write it out at home.

Remember:

Limericks are 5 lines long,

Lines 1, 2, & 5 rhyme with 8 syllables,

Lines 3 & 4 rhyme with 5 syllables.

I wanted to learn the trombone,

The flute was always my forte,

Rhyming options: Ballet, Broadway, Delay, Friday, See more

Playing drums was never my thing,

Rhyming options: Sing, Swing, Ping, Sting, See more

Reading notes I often found hard,

Rhyming options: Card, Guard, Starred, Yard, See more
