Description

Create the soundtrack to an epic game world! Ever wondered how video games get their music? On this exciting music-making day, children become real video game composers, creating original soundtracks inspired by popular adventure and gaming worlds. Throughout the day, students will explore how music helps tell a story in games - from calm exploration music to high-energy battle themes and victorious finales. Using instruments, vocals, percussion and simple music-making tools, children will work in small groups to compose their own game music and experiment with rhythm, melody and mood. The day builds teamwork, listening skills and musical creativity, while encouraging students to make bold creative choices and explain their ideas. By the end of the day, we will have created original game soundtracks live alongside visuals and gameplay imagery, creating a fun and immersive showcase of their work. No experience or formal training is necessary. Children will need: - a packed lunch - a water bottle - their own instrument if they play one and would like to bring it in. The day runs from 9am until 4pm at Bristol Grammar School and we ask that you please arrive 15 minutes before the start time. We are able to accept childcare vouchers as means of payment. Please select 'Pay In Person' when booking and contact us with details of your provider and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
